AW S9 OS 11.01 - wrist temperature no longer registering - no data in Vitals app.
Was working before - have restarted both iPhone and watch along with wrist temperature setting. Sleep focus is activated.
Really don't want to reset/repair the watch....

Ongoing problem - remains chronic.
Ended up doing a reset/repair = lasted 3 weeks before the temperature failed again.
Otherwise the restart/enable (watch process) lasts about a week - before failing.
Apple tech support is clueless - after multiple interactions/escalations over the months...

Not sure what to suggest here beyond going into an Apple Store and have them look at it.
Do you have a store nearby?
Do you have AC+?

And I assume on the iPhone Health app you watch does show up as a source in the wrist temp section?

Mine started to miss some O2 readings, but it doesn't happen every night.
Some nights it is recorded normally.
It seems that occasional missing vitals are common.

I don’t know what you perceive as “common”, other than this thread I don’t recall people reporting this as an issue here.
I have not had any missing vitals since it was introduced.
If you’re missing spO2 readings, check if you can repeatedly manually measure SpO2, could be an issue with your sensor

I’ve checked my sensor and it is fine. As I said, it is only missing occasionally, but it happened twice in the last three days.

I said it is “common” on the basis of a Google search for “temperature missing in vitals”, that threw out a number of similar reports on Reddit and Apple Discussions.
So, read “common” as “not unique”.

This happens to me sometimes with blood oxygen readings as well, though maybe once or twice a year or so. (In fact I just checked - the last time was Feb 27.) Wrist temperature seems to be a lot more solid for me.

The chronic problem (recording wrist temperature) persists.
Longest it was worked consistently is 3 weeks. Most times it is 3-5 days. The requires a reset
For reference purposes @jz0309 this has been documented for at least the last two years (Apple discussions).

The watch is still under warranty and as such it will be returned/replaced.

my Series 8 never fails to record a wrist temperature, unless there was something unusual about the length of my sleep.
i dont know how frequently its measuring wrist temperature during the night. but the only time it doesn't supply a reading for me is if my sleep was interrupted for a longtime, like an hour, or, if my sleep time was very short.

wrist temperature has been reliable for me to predict if ii should take more care of my day to day situation because it accurately indicates if my body is fighting against something, like a coming cold or something like that.
