Wrong email address coming up when trying to update at App Store 2012 Mini OS 10.10.3

When I try to download updates at the App Store an email addy other than mine comes up grayed out so I can't do anything with it. My password does not work.

I tried to email that addy and it is dead. I purchased the Mini

(2012 quad i7, 16 g ram, Yosemite 10.10.3) used 2 years ago

and have downloaded updates many times with no problems. This just cropped up 2 weeks ago.

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance


I did a few searches here and found nothing relevant, probably cockpit error

This means that App Store is trying to update an application purchased with that Apple ID.
