I am looking for a 30 pin to lightning adapter which is compatible with Apple's leather iPhone 5/5s case. I really want to find an adapter to work, so that I can continue using a Griffin iPhone stand/card reader that I have been using with my previous 4s. Surprisingly Apple's 1st party adapter is not compatible with their own case. The reason the Apple adapter does not work is due to the lightning port sitting flush with the adapter. Thus making it incompatible with any case that protects the bottom of the phone. I have found some 3rd party adapters on Amazon with the port raised, but I would like to know if it is high enough to work with the Apple leather case.

You won't be able to buy any authorised adaptor that does this, as the Made for iPhone programme to licence them prohibits anyone from including such a lip on a lightning connector. Same issue with docks, which is why none of them work with Apple's own case design either.

And yes, that is literally the dumbest thing that you've ever heard, isn't it?

I'm not aware of an unlicenced one.
