WTF! Guitar on Guitar Hero 3 not working!!!!!

So i was using version 1.0, and it wouldnt read my guitar at all. So i updated to 1.3, and now when i get to the beginning, i skip through the adverts. at the beginning, to where it asks me about making an online account to keep track of my score, blah blah. but when it brings me to this screen, it keeps going around and around, "Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no" over and over, and my keyboard and mouse, or my guitar will not stop it. im screwed. jesus for the damn price people pay for this youd think it would WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any solution?

Guitar Hero III Not Working On My Mac Also!!

Marc, I am having the exact same problem. I tried troubleshooting for hours. I even tried downloading the xbox360 driver for my mac which sensed the controller but I still had the same problem you did in the menu start up. I even uninstalled and tried the original version. Also version 1.1 wouldn't recognize the guitar. Only until version 1.3 it finally recognized the guitar but it would freeze at the online startup screen asking "yes" or "no". It would flicker back and forth and i was not able to do anything even if i unplugged it and plugged it back in. The only thing i could do is quit the program. I also tried playing without the guitar plugged in, then as i got to the main menu and past the online part i plugged it in. Unfortunately it would still not recognize the guitar. Even in multiplayer options it clearly showed it did not recognize the guitar but yet it only recognizes it when its plugged in at start up of the program. I called aspyr and the support team told me they've never had this problem yet and they think its the guitar that is broken even though i just bought it brand new. Now that i see you have the same problem Marc I am going to try it on a friends PC and see if it works. I can't believe that i wasted long distance calling aspyr when they are completely clueless and cannot find a way to help me with this problem so far.

Im using macbookpro. 15', 2.2ghz, 2g ram. 128v-ram. Mac OS 10.5.2. Intel Core 2 Duo with NVIDIA GE-FORCE 8600M GT.

If anyone finds solution or has any help please let me know.

Have you tried running the game without the 360 drivers when it was updated to 1.3?

Just to be clear, the game works fine with the keyboard right?

Also, when you say the game freezes, can you still press green to get to the next screen? (even you would have no control over if it hit yes or no)

If it just the guitar causing the malfunction, then it is probably a broken stummer switch.

You can buy replacements for $3 at www.guitarheroparts.com

Then, you will just need to open the guitar up an quickly solder the new switch on. I had the same problem, and this fixed it for me.

i finally got it to work

i went to my 'extensions' folder and found another xbox360 controller file so i deleted it. Sure enough after restart everything worked fine. Only problems i am having now is a bit of choppyness during gameplay even with the lowest graphical settings. Im sure my computer is fast enough that there should not be lag.

You just have to take the time and go through your computer thoroughly looking for old files that didn't get deleted from the xbox driver. Aspyr says it wont work if any previous drivers were installed.

it's finally working!

I had the same problem and managed to find the solution finally.
goto http://www.tattiebogle.net/index.php/ProjectRoot/Xbox360Controller/OsxDriver
and download then install
Driver (no Guitar Hero) (disk image) => http://files.tattiebogle.net/360/360ControllerInstallNoGuitar.dmg

The XBOX controller console won't detect the USB guitar but it's perfectly fine. Start GH3 and rock with your guitar!

The problem we all faced is that we install the Driver with Guitar Hero and it crashes with the Mac GH3 guitar original driver.

As for boosting your GH3, download and install => http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Games/GH3-Boost.shtml
I've only found this app and not tested it myself. Install at your own risk. ^_^

I'm having the same problem !!!

I tried all this without any succes, If I started Guitar Hero III without the my wireless xbox 360 guitar everything works fine! But if I tuned on my guitar, (even before starting the game) it wouldn't recognize a thing and I can only play it with the keyboard. But I don't want to play it with a keyboard so I installed these drivers, (deferent versions) the guitar worked there but when starting the game it won't stop scrolling. (strumming) after deleting everything and trying it again in several deferent whys, it still doesn't work !!!

Is there anyone with a solution..??? Please..???
