I don't think I would ever buy one, but I don't really think they are horrible, either...

They kinda look cool to some people, i for one will not be getting it but if i was in the market for an external HD i would probebly get it. Its one of thoes things that people stop and look at.
 
Yea, it will be fine until you little kid goes "ohh, look a GIANT LEGO! and it has a little blinking light on it!!!!!"
 
I want one. They're stackable! If I could buy about 500 I'd have the most awesome Lego building ever.
 
Stack-able seems like a good think(make a fort for you Mac:p )

I like the design of those. Will I buy one probably not since it does not match anything in my setup. Maybe in the future when I redo my setup I will definitely take another look at those things.
 
The thing I find attractive about them is they don't look like external hard drives. Kind of like the Godzilla FireWire hub.
