WTF Mail sending issue?!

Hi all,
Everytime I open Mail, it automatically wants to send a bunch of bloody blank emails and asks for outgoing server.
I didn't have this issue before, but used my Mac recently at a hotel so not sure if someone tried to hack it something, although ran Clamxv without anything coming back.

Anyone else had this? so annoying and dont really want to re-install OSX.

EDIT: decided to delete the Mail contents in Library which seems to have got rid of the issue.

After installing El Cap several SMTP settings crapped out. I tried what I found on various help sites, to no avail. Finally, the one thing that resolved all my issues was uninstalling each email account, one at a time, then reinstalling, one at a time. It's all good now.

I know this isn't exactly the OP's issue, but this seemed like a reasonable thread to get it out there.
