Just hours away from WWDC’s opening keynote, some developers have been sharing the contents of their conference swag bags on social media. The bags are given to attendees when they register for the event, and typically contain limited-edition Apple gifts.

This year, developers have been registering at Apple's Infinite Loop campus, where they have been gifted a black tote bag emblazoned with the WWDC 2025 logo, along with a gun-metal black drinks flask, a purple lanyard, and collectible enamel pins.

Apple introduced the popular pin packs at WWDC 2017 and kicked off collections with the old rainbow-themed Apple logo, the "hello" Mac greeting, the Swift and Metal logos, the original Macintosh, and emojis. Attendees also received a flag pin of their home country.

Among the various pins this year are the Apple Intelligence logo, the "hello" Mac greeting, the Metal logo, California roses, and what looks like an octopus emoji. Attendees also receive a WWDC 25 badge.

MacRumors will be in attendance at the keynote, with live coverage of the event beginning shortly after 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Stay tuned to MacRumors.com and our @MacRumorsLive account on X (Twitter). We've also put together a guide explaining all the ways you can watch Apple's WWDC 2025 Keynote live as it happens.

Since when was a lanyard a piece of swag?! And when will businesses stop giving out water bottles? Gee wiz, I've been getting offered them for over 25 years.

Lanyards are common swag items, but they are usually worn around the neck so I don't think that really qualifies as a lanyard.
The whole point of a lanyard, which yes is to be worn around the neck, is to prove you are part of the conference as well as state your name/company so you can meet new people easily. If you don't have one on your neck, you get stopped by security when you attempt to enter the conference. If you take it off during the conference, you typically get the stink eye and likely get asked by some kind of conference admin team where your lanyard is.

Swag is stuff you're supposed to bring home and keep for years such as t-shirts, hats, pens, electronic devices, mousepads, mugs, etc. I guess you could hang your lanyard up on your wall or cubicle but that's pretty meh.

As I mentioned, I've been going to all sorts of conferences for over 25 years and the lanyard lasts maybe a week once home. :)

The stuff hanging from the lanyard are what matter, especially since people will sometimes flex with vintage Apple lanyards and swag.

The pins, tote, and water bottle are those kinds of things. That lanyard looks to be short enough to where you could clip it to your bag as decoration; its not really a lanyard like you described.

A whole bunch of junk is what it looks like to me.

They should stop wasting money on this cheap stuff.
