Hey guys,
I hate to be the one who has to ask this the day after a record-breaking conference with the world's best products becoming further advanced, but, I just have to.
Although I ordered a new retina Macbook, which I think is an awesome product and the tech inside help justify the price, I can't help but think next year will be a single platform of both iOS and OS X softwares.
First, look at the evidence, it is OS X that is becoming more and more alike iOS.
Apple knows when to kill off certain products/software...MobileMe and the 17" Pro.
The reason this "worries" me, which really isn't the word I'm looking for but it's early in the morning, is what if next year's new software is an all in one integrated platform which will obviously still be tailored to look awesome on a 27" iMac or a 9.7" iPad.
This may cause some key differences in the keyboard on the Mac line. How can it not?
I mean, this year's WWDC was great, great introduction of the retina Macbook, I think it will hold that form factor for quite a long time, but you still have to admit the majority of new products only received adequate spec bumps.
All in all, I think next year will be the year Apple really shows what they've had planned since 2007 and the introduction of the first iOS device, the iPhone.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
