Anyone think there'll be updates/ speed bumps to mac pro's after wwdc or shortly after?

Thinking of getting one but not sure if i should wait until wwdc.

What do you think?

I think it's possible. Apple has released new Mac Pros/Powermacs at WWDC in the past. It wouldn't hurt to wait in my opinion.

I think it's unlikely as there is nothing new coming out until the Nehalem chips at the end of the year. New video cards and ACDs would be very welcome, though.

With the lack of newly released hardware the only possible updates that I see might happen are...

Video card
Blu-Ray DVD drive
Cinema Display

Since none of these are super great updates it will more than likely be a silent update that just shows up in the Apple Store.

Intel has no new CPUs or chipsets planned for Mac Pro-type machines before Nehalem. So the only updates we could see are for the drives and the video card.

No updates. Here's why; please search.

Nehalem: next processor to which we could upgrade. Not until MacWorld '09.
Radeon 3870: Not happening.
BluperDrive: Logical, but Steve says that optical media is dead, so we'd also need HDCP ACD updates, and that isn't happening.

TallestSkill: if the 3870 is 'not happening' then why is BareFeats going to post scores from it and why are people getting flyers for it?
