i accidently logged onto a web site with www2.____.com instead of just the regular www.____.com, It gave me a site that was a little bit differnt. I tried it on some other sites they would say page under maintence. What does all this mean?? Thanks!!

www2 what does this mean??

most often www2 (or www20 for that matter) are just overflow servers or servers that contain different parts of the site... webmasters can use anything they like for the bit before the site name, for instance "forums.macrumors.com". www is just a basic standard signifying a world-wide-web page there. so basically, don't worry about it
