How long does this form factory stay? Next major change when bendable screens are possible? Everyone seems to think this is merely a "s" cycle.... I would argue the next several years will be an "s" cycle.... at any rate the MAX is a fine phone I'm finding it hard to adjust back to a "big" phone after going from the 8 plus to the X and getting used to the X size for a year... not sure I like this big form factor after not having it for a year :)

I see maybe incremental design changes over the next few years like the differences between the 6, 7, and 8. But a full on redesign most likely won't happen until Apple can get the notch tech under the screen. They've invested a lot into the current design, so I think the every two year updates they used to do are gone.

Flexible screens still feel like a gimmick currently and I don't really see the application of them just yet. The screen still needs to be attached to the hardware in some way, limiting what most people would want one for.

It’s difficult to say really - I’d expect next year (3rd iteration) to have a few cosmetic tweaks (a la the iPhone 7) at the very least.
