Hi to all the other iPhone X owners out there.

Anyone else getting neon green/ turquoise shadows or ghosting on their phone?

Easiest to reproduce:

Dark room, brightness = minimum, night shift on (can be manually enabled), True Tone on. On Facebook app when a video is playing scroll up and down and look below the playing video.

Buddy of mine can’t teproduce. Wondering if this can be reproduced by anyone else?

I first got suspicious when scrolling through my email inbox I saw green shadows/ghosting of the text. Not as obvious as the example above, but still annoying to me.

Thanks for your help. If no one can repro I will try to take a video of the screen. May be difficult due to low light however.

It’s more noticeable if it’s a video that appears as you scroll, with the ghosting around it when you move up or down, so I’m assuming it’s a software bug related to it.

Definitely also more noticeable with night shift on too.

Do you have this issue too? Have you gotten a replacement yet?

Able to reproduce here on my 10 here. Noticed it today for the first time and found your post but I'm sure an iOS update will fix this.

Maybe will have to download my beta and see if that one is good. If not ... Report.

If you do download the beta please report back. I hope the update hits before my 14 day return period. Otherwise if this is hardware I’ll be stuck with it.

I noticed this on my X after a couple of days use. Same conditions, dark environment, backlight and lowest and nightshift enabled at warmest.

Apple replaced my device twice and issue still persists. It’s also on every demo unit I’ve tried - even the guy who served me in Apple had it on his own personal one.

I’m assuming this is an issue with the software and the OLED. If you experience it please log with AppleCare as Apple denied it was a widspreaed issue, which is clearly is...

It's typical for OLED - depends on the content of the screen and your awareness if you notice it and / or how much it annoys you. There won't be a software update. Swapping it out won't help. That's how the display works.

Noticed this on mine as well. Night Shift on, True Tone on. Not a big deal to me.

In your Night Shift settings, is your slider set to the middle or more on the warmer side? I noticed that when the slider was set to the default (middle), this ghosting isn't too apparent. But once the slider gets set to the more warmer extreme, the ghosting is more prominent.

I remember in previous versions of iOS, making the display warmer in Night Shift, a little disclaimer popped up saying "Setting the display warmer may impact display performance" or something like that. Not sure why that's not in iOS 11.

Just installed just the public beta 11.2 beta 3 and now it's pinkish on scroll.

I still think it's just software and no hardware issue but I'm sure if it is anything it would be under manufacturing warranty for the year.

I have the same issue. Spent hours letting Apple Support know and they refused to escalate this to engineering.
