Is there any possible way to put X on an original PB G3?

It currently has 233Mhz, 96MB RAM(!), and two internal HDDs.

Would it even be worth it? Probably not...

2 internal HD???

I would live that computer for clasic, there is not even enough ram to run clasic with another application.

Why don you get a Pismo? you can find them very loaded for $600 in eBay!!!

X on PB G3

I ran OSX (10.1.4) on a PB G3 233 w/512k cache, 64 MB RAM, 2 GB HDD, and 12.1" screen. But, after I installed OS9 and X (only the OS's) there was only 200 MB free. I ran it on the machine until the hard drive become corrupt and would not boot anymore. It seems that the hard drive had 15 MB left and the OS9 system files become corrupt. I wiped OSX and fixed the drive using Norton Disk Doctor so my wife could continue using it. A 2 GB hard drive is way to small for OSX.

I will admit it was very sluggish, but it ran!! BTW... I would never attempted it on a PB G3 233 w/ 0k cache. They are already a dog in OS9, let alone X. The one at work was so slow we went back to MacOS 8.5 on it.

I'd like to, but I have to save my money for my car.

I'm restoring an old Beetle...

Thanks for the tips guys. :)

Looks like the PB will stay OS 9 only.
