Hi folks, I'd like to get your opinion to choose between iphoneX (256-last year release) and iphone Xr (128)? It gonna be a gift for mom who's using her phone for more whatsapp and facetime. Thanks for your support!

Why not just let her decide? It's going to be her phone! I know many women who like bigger screens and don't have an issue carrying a larger phone. Either would be a great choice for various reasons!

Simply she won't me let buy for her a new mobile as she is always satisfied with her own phone (iphone 6s), even the battery sucks and the capacity is always full, so decided to offer her a new one.

That makes sense! I think the X would be more comparable to the 6s. You really can't go wrong with that choice. Many good deals out right now too.

Aside from the differences of the sizes of the phones, what about the storage options that you have Listed between 128 GB and 256GB? Does your mom need considerably more storage over 128? That is really your main consideration depending her usage.

She's heavily user of whatsapp videos and pics, I have always to find out trick to relieve her storage :D Also the battery is a concern...

If battery is a concern, the XR battery is much much better than the X's.
What about the screen resolution and storage? the point is I got an offer with similar price with different capacity X 256 and Xr 128

iPhone X for me without question. If you can pick up a brand new one on a deal I think it’s the way to go.
yeah X is a brand new

The X screen is far superior.

It depends what you’re comparing. The XR is the best _LCD_ iPhone Apple has ever offered, at least that’s what reviews are already posting. The X being OLED, is a completely different entity over LCD Being that really can’t be compared to in that specific category with the vast differences.

I think you misunderstood what I said.

I said if someone can get a brand new X now on a deal, I personally feel it’s a better buy than the XR.
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I found a brand new iphone X 256 with same price of Xr 128. In that case what's the best option to take?

I would go for the X since it have more storage, better screen, comparable size to 6s, and feels more premium. I’m on iOS 12.1 beta 5, and the FaceID feel just as fast as on the XR and feels as though it’s a brand new device with the 12 update.

XR for the better camera, processor and battery life. Also it's got a bigger screen.

I would go for the Xr as I didn’t like the X when I had it. It felt too tall and unbalanced in the hand while at the same time just as narrow as the 6,7,8 when it came to using the keyboard. I’m now using a Max but if I hadn’t got this, would definitely go for the Xr. (Upgraded from 6S Plus and 8.)

EDIT: Also you might want to take into account that Zoom view isn’t available on the X but is on the Xr. As an older person this makes a lot of difference to me when reading forums or websites in Safari as normal text size adjustments don’t have any effect. Also the Xr has dual Sim functionality, which may be of interest at some point.

I think that it’s also got a lot to do with personal preference on how large of a phone someone wants. I personally think the XR is much to wide. I’d hate holding it one handed.

Secondary to that, I think the higher storage and better screen on the X outweigh the newer processor on the XR. It’ll be a while before either processor is fully used.

The zooming option is a good point to consider. Thank you for that!

Could A11 processor support 3 upgrades in your opinion?

There are other things than the oled that make it a better screen, such as the much higher resolution.

Thanks guys for your advice! I wanted to share this with you, after compiling all given information, I bought iphone X 256 for her... Hope she will like it :D

I think that’s a good decision. I definitely think they A11 will be good for updates for at least 3 more years.

I'll take X anytime, any day.
Xr is a budget phone, like it or not...it's "the REGULAR" iPhopne.
X was,still is a premium phone.
the slightly faster CPU,you won't notice..but the better,OLED display of X,double cameras, and nicer.,prettier, more premium build quality of X,you will notice and experience EVERY SINGLE DAY.
end of story.

You’ll also notice much better battery life on the XR. The single lens camera is better than the equivalent single lens of the X. The speakers are better on the XR... The price is also $150 less for the XR. IMO, they are pretty equal in pros and cons, I think it comes to personal preference.
