So I've had my iPhone X for about 5 or so weeks now - I set it up as new upon arrival and did not restore from any kind of backup.
One really bizarre behaviour I've been noticing is that over a 7-10 day period, the phone reaches a "state" where all animations suddenly become extremely choppy (such as typing on the keyboard, there's a 1-2 second delay after every 5 or so letters) or in the most recent instance (yesterday) - I answered a phone call and then when I tried to switch to another app during the call, it was literally playing out the "zoom out to app list" animation at around 1 frame per second - I essentially couldn't multitask to another app. As soon as I hung up the call, the phone returned to normal until the next call.
Whenever it reaches this state after about 10 or so days, a quick restart of the phone puts everything back to normal, but I'm finding this to be really strange behaviour. I never had this in the entire year of my iPhone 7 Plus and previous devices - in fact I don't think I ever restarted my iPhone 7 Plus.
Any theories?
