X-road G-map with voice guidance for 3.0 (video)

It looks great but the HCI can be improved, I believe. It's a little draggy especially in the inputing of destinations and other commands.

On another note, I wonder if the iPhone has to be connected via an AUX to the car stereo system because its speakers are way to soft for usage in a moving vehicle.

It would. I am currently using xgps in this way.
 
Another big question is whether or not this is going to be a free update or an entirely "new" paid app.
 
Amazing, GPS is what I have been waiting the most for.

Anybody know of any other software? I wonder if TomTom will release that version they supposedly made.
 
i've been keeping my eye on g-map as it's way cheaper than other options, but i've read taht 1.3 sucks and 1.2 was golden, and i'm just wondering why this is
can someone explain the differences?
 
On the 19 th, they had an update to 1.3.1, and the description said voice turn by turn. By the time I got home, it was back to 1.3. I emailed them yesterday, and the email I got back said it will be rereleased end of this week, or first week in July. Also indicated was a free update.

I had both versions, and yes, 1.3 is retarted! 1.2 implimented non voice turn by turn. I think apple told them that was a no no, and 1.3 brought them into compiance. 1.3 makes use of a game, where you win a prize and get points when you make a turn. If you go to their web site, it actually warn you to not update to 1.3.

Haha yes he is serious. 1.2 was great! 1.3 basically has a bar that it fills when you are about a mile away from your turn. 1.2 gave you x.x miles of how far you are from your turn. Even if you were 10.3 miles away. The new version looks promising!
 
okay yeah that sounds really stupid...
but if that video is showing the real deal $25 seems like it would definitely be worth it...i'll keep an eye on it
