Hello,

Is it possible to connect an X Serve Raid to an iMac?

My thoughts are that i need some extra hardware to convert fibrecahnnel to firewire or the such? Or, a differnt RAID system with firewire?

The way we connect to our server is via gigabit ethernet. All you need is a Gigabit switch and some cat5 cable.
Currently there are 2 G5s, a G4, a mini, several PeeCees, and some MBPs hooked to that thing.

I think you miss understnad my question. I'm not talking about connecting to a server but dirrectly to an X Serve RAID unit. It does not have giabit ethernet.

No. You need a fibre channel card. You cannot get one for an iMac as it doesn't have any slots. You need an PowerMac G5, XServe or Mac Pro.
