Is it possible to run an OS like fedora on apples X11?

Also I've heard of dual booting is that an option here? And on a MBP would I have to wipe my HD?

Fedora will probably run on X11... with a hell of a lot of work. It's best to use http://www.virtualbox.org/ for that sort of thing.

Dual booting with Windows can be done easily with the Bootcamp feature on OS X. Any other os and I think you may have to reduce your mac partition size with the Disk Utility on your OS X install CD.
