There is an X11 app in the Utilities section of the screen. When I run it
I get a blank screen and an xterm window. That is all! No window manager...no menu system...etc. So how do I exit the X11 utility? If I quit the xterm window I am left with a blank screen with no obvious way to get back to my normal Mac display.

So in my frustration...I downloaded what I thought was an updated/expanded version of X11. No the X11 utility won't start.

So my questions are:

1) How do I recover the X11 utility? (w/o purchasing another copy of Lion)

2) If I can recover it...how do you exit out of it gracefully?

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response!

I use X11 for a suite of applications from Unidata that I use to view numerical weather model data.
