x86 Macs and video cards

With the introduction of x86 chips into Macs, will that mean we'll be able to use the graphics cards Windows users have been using (i.e. better than the crap used in Macs lately).

I'm sure drivers would need to be developed, but maybe now the hardware issues would no longer be a problem. Anyone who knows more about this than I care to comment?
