Hello everyone,

I just installed the Snow Leopard and run a quick Xbench in it, I am surprised my OpenGL score dropped more than a half in SL. I was wondering why is the cause to this?

Is XBench 1.3 support SL at all? Or is it because of the new OpenCL language?

Below is the result:

Thanks for all your help!!:)

P.S. Sorry for the formatting. I don't know how to make it not cramp together.

Anyone has any ideas?

Some more information to add:

when I installed the SL, the screen went completely black and I originally thought the installation failed. However, it was actually a pretty common problem with some new 09 MBP that the graphic driver is somehow 'disabled'/'crashed' during installation. I completed the installation with aid of flash-light - and once it rebooted everything is normal.

Could it be a graphic driver problem making the OpenGL score so low?
Please, any comments is mostly welcomed!!;)

It's normal and no one knows why...yet. For some reason, early benchmarks show that graphics/GPU performance is lower than Leopard. Head over to Engadget and look for their Snow Leopard review.

Thanks for your comment.

It is glad to know I was not just me making some wrong setting.

I hope they will fix this soon....it jsut doesn't make sense why SL will run slower in graphics than leopard.

Glad I found this post... it was driving me nuts most of this afternoon. I had just installed SL on a 3rd drive.

I have:

drive1. Leo 10.5.5 = xBench @225

drive2. Snow Leopard 10.6.2 = xBench @188

drive3. Windows 7 = who cares
