I've been tracking down some performance oddities in bootcamp (namely that i'm only getting one core showing and passmark benchmarking tests are showing accordingly poor performance, any ideas anyone?) then i tried xbench in OS X.
The CPU score i'm getting shows around 150 whereas online comparisons with the same model show 170. And in fact my other half has exactly the same MBP and that shows 169 on this test. It's the veclib FFT section that is showing the problem - 86 vs 120, the rest are quite similar.
So why, for identical hardware and versions of OSX, am i getting a score that is over 10% lower?
Can anyone on here try their 2.53GHz 13" MBP and tell me what their CPU score is?
Whilst 10% may not sound like much it might be an indicator of other things going on that need to be sorted. And afterall i paid extra for the 2.53 so i am trying to squeeze everything out...
many thanks in advance
paul
