....PowerPC with version 12, "Frodo". Not entirely surprising news, but sad more evidence that the PowerPC community is getting smaller every year. Some love XBMC, some hate XBMC, and its always been kinda buggy and crash prone. But it does allow for some very good playback on PowerPC G4 hardware, and opens up a world of video options on PowerPC that are hard to come by otherwise.

Version 11 "Eden" works fine still (if you don't mind the crashes). I've searched but haven't found any brave souls working on bringing Frodo for PowerPC, is anyone here aware of any efforts to do so? Plex comes to mind, but that's not really XBMC...

I'll try and compile it.

I look forward to testing your compile.

Yes, I second that also.. I too await testing it also.

Don't get too hopeful. This is from their readme for Mac:
This is a platform port of XBMC for the Apple OSX operating system. 10.6, 10.7
and 10.8 Intel development platforms are supported. Xcode 3.2.6 and 4.3 and newer
are the recommended versions.

It could be that they don't know whether it will work (unlikely) or if they have precompiled libs that only work with Intel (likely), which would mean that I would have to recompile all of those.

Even if I were to get it working, packaging it for a distribution would be a pain, and I have no experience doing that.
