Looks like this may be too early. Completed a jailbreak for iOS 7 on the iPad 3 and the installer wizard loaded fine but then running XBMC wizard application doesn't work. It goes to the Apple logo and then reloads back to the main screen.

Also, tetherme says it's no ready yet in Cydia so I take it that is going to need a bit of time.

Would like to load xbmc but looks like it needs some time.

Someone in another thread said it works on iphone 5 so should work on ipad as well

Xbmc works fine on my iphone 5. Xbmc hub wizard does not work. Crashes xbmc.

Reinstall xbmc and install the wizard manually inside the xbmc app.

Go to file manager

At this URL - http://fusion.xbmchub.com

Put a name to describe the link below. Mine is "fusion"

Once this is added, go to settings, then add ons, and install from zip.

Click what you named the link, then click hub wizard. Then clock the zip that says hub wizard. It will install under programs and you can run it from in there.

this might be a dumb question for some but could someone explain what is XBMC and how do i install it

Thanks! As a side note to anyone else reading, you need to change your skin to "Confluence" to see the File Manager. Then follow the steps above.

XBMC is essentially a media player that has the ability to connect to outside sources, such as your desktop PC, an external harddrive, and URLs for streaming video. There's probably more features as well but I use it mostly for videos and music stored on my computer since my iPad is only 16gb and can't hold much.

In my opinion CBMC is the killer app for iPad, as long as you "connect" to decent sites and have content you want to stream from your PC.

As far as downloading it, simply search "XBMC", it should be in a default repo.

I tried to install, but get a "size mismatch" error on installation attempt.
Am i doing something wrong?

I'm getting the same problem too. It installed fine yesterday, but today the new update is giving the "size mismatch" error. Give it a few days.

Wait you can stream video stored on your computer through your iPad screen using XBMC? This is a capability I was unaware of. Hmmmm...

Yup, it supports several networking protocols:

- SMB (note that its SMB support is MUCH worse than that of many competing players - see my SMB bible for more info: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1503989/ )

- UPnP - now, this is much better than its SMB support (see my UPnP bible for more info: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1503346/ )

- etc.

ok finally got it installed could anybody guide me to adding the add-on that lets me watch free movies an tv shows

Now, let's change that ugly icon to a more iOS 7 friendly one.

xbmc.png

Step 1. Download this icon : http://6g6.eu/sih0-xbmc.png

Step 2. Using iFunbox or any iOS Explorer, navigate to /var/stash/Application.XXXXX/XBMC/

Step 3. Overwrite the XBMC.png file with the one you just downloaded. Make sure the name (including capitalization) is the same.

Step 4. Navigate to /var/mobile/Library/Caches/ and delete the com.apple.IconsCache folder.

Step 5. Respring your device.

You are all done!
