Xbox 360 controller won't work

I downloaded this stuff, but it didn't do anything. I can't find whatever he has open in the screenshot, and the controller just simply won't connect.

I'm using a wireless controller, but I'm using the USB cable to connect it to my computer.
The controller is just sitting there flashing the connecting light.

Is there something extra I have to do or what?

Oh yeah, and I'm on Lion.

I assume you are using the Plug and Charge Kit to connect via USB. If this is the case, it won't work. That only connects to charge the controller battery. To use a wireless 360 controller you need the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver.
