hi i am going to buy an xbox and im not sure wheather to get the 20gb 60gb or 120gb but i have heard you can run them with and external hard drive but not sure wheather you can?

i've never heard of a 360 using an External Hard Drive, but that doesn't mean it's not true.

depends on how many games/accounts you're going to use, i have a 120GB with 101GB free after a recent cleaning of the hard drive, i had 80GB free before i cleaned it up.

if you plan on using like a couple accounts, less than 10ishh games, you should be fine with 20GB. that's just my opinion though, i am by no means an expert.

You can run downloaded games off memory cards, but not external drives.

If you plan on using the new features of xbox dashboard such as installing your games to the HDD so that your machine loads faster and runs a hell of a lot quieter - then get a 60 - 120 at least.
