hi guys (and girls). i know there is already a thread on this topic but it seems a while out of date. with the price of the xbox hd-dvd soooooooo low i was considering buying 1. but will i beable to watch HD-DVDs on it?

even if it could i have a 2.0ghz intel macbook, will it beable to cope with outputing it on to a LCD Tv.

currently i can watch 720p .mkv files without any problems on my tv via the mac, but wen i try to watch 1080p .mkv files then im in trouble; VLC player tells me my system is to slow :(

any and all help will be appreciated

Your mac will recognise the drive, it will recognise the disks and mount them... but and here is the rub.... DVD player for mac can not play them back and there is no other alternative software so basically the hardware is all supported but software wise we are completely stuck.

Who knows when Apple will get round to software playback of either HD-DVD or BluRay ? We all assumed it would be 10.5 But it wasn't.
