I know this is more of a gaming question but maybe someone in the Mac Pro forums knows the answer. Basically, I have a wireless router in my house that my Mac Pro connects to from a seperate room. I have an xbox 360 in my room with the Mac Pro. Without buying the $100 360 wireless adapter, could I configure it so I could run my 360 into my Mac Pro's ethernet port and piggy back off of my Mac's wireless connection to get on Xbox Live?

Yes, you can. Just share the ethernet, and hook it into the 360.

What kind of configurations do I have to make in the network preferences?

First of all go into the sharing preferences, and select the internet sharing option. Then put the correct ports in.

You will probably have to configure the IP of the port that is doing the sharing manually. I have found that any valid IP should work. Just make sure it's on a different subnet than your router's network.

Hey, don't mean to hijack this thread, but thank you so much for outlining this process!

I am actually using it for my iPhone to download stuff on installer.
