Hey all,

I have a normal version of Windows XP (not the media center edition) and an Xbox 360 on the same network. I want to start using my 360 as a media center. I assume that I would either need to upgrade my XP to XP media center edition(is an upgrade even possible? I want to keep the contents of my XP as is, I don't want to reformat), or find a third party app that enables the use of a media center extender (the 360) without using media center edition.

Any help here would be great. Thanks.

Edit: Just found this from the Microsoft site:

Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 is an operating system that is only available on Media Center PCs. Because of special hardware requirements, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005-based PCs are available only from Microsoft PC Manufacturer partners.

Does this mean I can't upgrade to media center edition on my iMac?
