Xbox 360 Optical to PM G5

I have an audio set-up that feeds my receiver with the optical out on my G5. I want to connect the 360 to the receiver also, but I only have one optical in on the receiver. I tried putting the optical out of the 360 to the optical in of my G5, but when I do this no audio comes out of G5, at all.
