Xbox 360 Wireless Controller?

Has anyone managed to get Xbox 360 Wireless Controller to work?
I used one with Fire TV in the past however had to usb Microsoft Wireless Gaming adapter plugged into USB for it to be detected as compatible bluetooth gaming controller. Ill be trying this out on Tuesday when my ATV4 arrives.

Neither the 360 or the Xbox One controllers are Bluetooth and without support for the USB wireless adapters I wouldn't expect any Xbox controller to work now or in the future.
