I want to buy a controller for playing games. I do not use either Xbox or Playstation so I'm looking for suggestions regarding which might be better with the AppleTV. Is it just a matter of preference with regards to how it feels? Will either controller work with popular games like Fortnite?

Thanks.

Xbox controller. Even most Playstation users will tell you the Xbox controller has more of a natural fit and button placement.

I'd vote for the PS one. I agree with the other reply that the Xbox ones are slightly more comfortable, but unfortunately in my experience at least, they are not as durable. Either would be fine for Fortnite, though my son who plays it a LOT prefers a keyboard and mouse on his PS4.

Used to prefer the PS4 controller, but I’m all in on Xbox controllers now. Only downside is they’re louder (way more clicky), but far more comfortable for me. I prefer the Xbox d-pad and triggers for sure. DS4 analog sticks are good though.

Xbox controllers are in general more comfortable to use for longer gaming sessions, especially that Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, an almost perfect fit.

But as Tommo66 already said, most of them are not so durable. PS4 controllers are the most durable controllers that I used so far.

I have both consoles and my vote goes to the Xbox controller. I find it more comfortable. In fact, as someone who has owned a games console since 1978, I think it’s the best controller ever made. I find the weight, stick position, build quality and battery life better than the PS4 controller. That said, if you have smaller hands, the PS4 controller might be better for you.

I have both an Xbox and Ps4, but would advise Dual Shock 4 (PS4) controller:

1) It's re-chargeable with mini USB. X1 controller takes 2 x AAA batteries. Re-charging kit costs ~30 euros extra.
2) Less height, lies better in your hands
