So have been wanting to make apps for the iPhone for some time now and was wondering how easy is Xcode 4 to use? Also what is the best way to learn how to make apps. Do I just get a good book on it and read it cover to cover. Any info would help. Thank you.

i tried to install it but i need os x 10.7 or higher. is that lion?

No. There are two downloads of Xcode 4.2. At least there are on the developer page and I would expect them to both be there on a free account now that is it no longer beta. The second download is a version of Xcode 4.2 that runs on Snow Leopard.

If you have an older version of OS X. Then use your install disc to get started, or download that latest version of Xcode appropriate for that.
