macOS xcode noob problem with tutorial

Hi!

I began cocoa today, and in a tutorial ( http://cocoadevcentral.com/d/learn_cocoa_two/ ) they are talking about a document window (I have it but without any tabs).

I should drag a file in it, I can it seems to work, but it does nothing, and I don't have tabs...

I use the latest xcode on leopard.
