Past couple of weeks Xcode is barely usable. I get the spinning beachball about every 10 seconds and have to wait then click the screen then another beachball then wait. I can work for about 30 seconds until the next round of beachballs. I've restarted machine and Xcode. I also did that trick where you open the project file package and delete the xcuserdata for the project which worked for other projects but now it's happening on new projects as well. Cleared derivedData etc.

Don't know what it is. You can sample Xcode using Activity Monitor. That might point you in the right direction of what it is. There's a lot of discussion on this topic in other forums that you can look at. It can be hard to diagnose though.

Does this happen for all projects?
I've seen this before when some storyboard have got a bit bent. Can't really describe it any better tan that but it appears that a perfectly fine storyboard can all of a sudden grind Xcode to a halt.
Check out a version a couple of months old before this started just to see if it's something to do with the project.
