XDR eGPU support?

I have been reading on how the XDR is not behaving with eGPU's (even AMD GPU's). There seems to be quirks such as missing brightness controls and a few others features that for a $5k display I find imperative to have working.

This is pretty alarming to me, and if this is the case I may return my XDR. This is something I plan to have for many years and to do that realistically I need to be able to upgrade my 16" MPB with an eGPU when my 5600M becomes a bit dated.

Any insight appreciated, am I overreacting with this?

16" MBP can support 6K on XDR with no problem. eGPU is just for processing graphics. So I think you need to try by yourself before making any conclusion. Besides, it's fun.
