I had the unfortunate luck to have my work PC stolen. Thus, I recently went through the excruciating process of having to buy a new one, set it up again, etc (why we don't just get macs I'll never know.)

I originally transferred my iTunes song collection via MP3's on CD; obviously this was quite tedious and I don't want to repeat it. If I hook my iPod (which mirrors my home iTunes collection) up to my work PC and synch, it'll just erase everything off the iPod. Anyone know of a semi-painless way to do this? I'd imagine there's a way to get the iPod to act as a hard drive and transfer that way, but I wonder if there's a more elegant solution. By the way, this is on a PC running Windoze xp home.

thanks....
