Today when trying to use the app it just crashes when trying to open, restarted the Apple TV 4k and HD, reinstalled the app but same problem, anyone know what to do? comcast help is useless, yesterday it was working fine
 
Checked that app on mine just now and it loaded normally. My first guess was a bad version of the app.

It appears you've tried the things you can try as a user. It's peculiar you are having the same problem on TWO AppleTVs. That likely rules out a bad app install or something like that.

  • Reboot your router?
  • Reboot your modem?
  • Manually close all open apps on the AppleTV and then reboot to be sure that RAM is as free as possible?
  • Xfinity working right now? Check their website and they can usually identify any outages of very localized service.
  • You have an active Xfinity television subscription plan in effect right now? It needs active television service to work. If you were perhaps leaning on Peacock (only), I think I saw something about them stripping that out as a separate service within the last few days. Do you get any Xfinity television signals on a household TV?
  • Try the website version of the same? See if you can access television through the Xfinity website? If so, the app should work too.

Yeah still crashing, this is odd, only this app is giving me trouble, was working fine 2 days ago, then yesterday it started crashing on both Apple Tvs, I need this app because on One TV I only have the Appe Tv no cable box. There have been no updates to the App since June 14th and no software updates to the Apple tv in the last few days at least. Web version works fine
 
Contact Xfinity tech support. This appears isolated to you (else there would be a fairly big stink about this issue as you are not the only one using the app instead of paying for the boxes). They may need to tweak your account or something.

I have gotten reasonable results with their forums. They may refer you to a private discussion area where they seem to be more knowledgeable than regular phone support.


Have you tried the various reset options on the ATV, up to a total reset?
