XFX ATI 5870 1GB Mac Pro 1,1

Hiya all , was wondering if this 5870 Will work in my mac pro running Lion , now i realize there wont be a boot screen , but from what i gather it will work fine in os 10 ,

I know this is a really old post, but did you ever find out if it worked out of the box? I'm thinking of doing the same this but there's some conflicting info about using Mountain Lion, 1,1 Mac Pro and the XFX 5870
