Very interested in this, will most likely replace my Apple TV which won't play nicely with Amazon. What's the difference between this and the chromecast Ultra other than manufacturer?

Lets you run stock Android TV with a 8gb of storage for apps, a USB port to connect devices (or a hub to have ethernet), etc.

What I wanna know if it recognizes HFS and ExFat formatted drives... if not, it's more or less useless for me.

Will it be released officially in the west, or like many xaiomi phones even when switched to English have lots of remnants of Chinese lingering inside when you move to menu or apps specifically for Chinese market ...
