XLD problem

I have been using XLD to rip my CDs to Flac but for some strange reason even though the XLD icon is showing on my dock when I insert a CD the program will not start detecting the pregap and thus I cannot rip a CD. The CD is showing up in iTunes and I have never had any issues with it before but this is strange.

I'm currently running Mountain Lion on my iMac and would be grateful for any help on this issue.

Right then sorted that out but now another problem..


For some reason the album cover art is not being saved as a jpg in the album's folder. Previously it was and I have made sure not to tick the box to embed the album art in the file as my Sonos system will not display it this way. If someone can help me and stop me from tearing my hair out it would be much appreciated.
