This is posted on the front page at xlr8.com :

XLR8, Inc. has closed its doors and is no longer in business.
There is no technical or warranty support available.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

This is terrible news. No more upgrades? My warrantee on my G3 card is just worthless now? I can't believe this. We get Newer back and lose XLR8.

Bah!

Man I've got to read the fine print better, sucks that another hardware upgrade business is dead.

Does anyone know why they closed.....

yeah.. it seems like they would be a profitable company.. then again, i guess not toooo many people buy upgrades... i guess its just a matter of running a business right..

prolly they invested too much in development and werent makin enough from their current products..

Which company has been having all the problems with the Powerbook CPU upgrades?

Something about the new processor module getting too hot and them holding onto customer warranty returns for months on end and blaming IBM for the problem.

Finally found it, was Powerlogix.

So we have 1 more upgrade manufacturer down, and another with a customer service fiasco still brewing.

---

All in all not a good sign for continued upgradeability.
