I've looked around a few different forums and I haven't really been able to find a post that asks/answers exactly what my problem is. I have one of the late 2008 MBPs and I installed xp sp2 through boot camp a couple weeks ago. It worked fine for a week or so, but for the last few days I've have a problem with booting into xp.
I select windows and the screen turns off, as if the computer were off (no cursor or anything), but it continues to run. I hear the Windows chimes a few seconds later when it loads, and the computer just continues to sit there on with a blank screen. I can hit the power button once and the windows shut down chime noise plays and the computer shuts down normally. So the XP os loads properly, but for some reason the laptop display doesn't activate. It doesn't happen all the time, but it could not work at all for a day and then work fine the next day, and then blank screen once and then boot fine. It seems to happen pretty randomly.
If anyone has any tips on fixing it, they'd be much appreciated.
