howdy -

i've searched for this problem and didn't see it, so if i missed it, please forgive me. here's my story:

i'm trying to install xp sp2 on my new macpro using boot camp, but i'm getting no love. boot camp works fine and boots into xp setup. i choose and format the proper disk, files are copied, machine restarts. the install goes fine for a couple minutes, but when it reaches 33 minutes remaining, it stays there. the installation does not proceed, i've let it sit for 2 hours, and still it doesn't get past 33 minutes remaining. the little green boxes in the lower right corner keep cycling through, and xp propaganda about how great it is still changes on the screen...i don't know what's going on. it's funny, a few days ago i was able to load it and run xp fine. i was having some weird issues so i decided to re-install.

since i can't get it to load, i decided to uninstall through boot camp. that was fine i got my space back and everything. but when i restart i get a black screen telling me no bootable device. i know i can change the start-up disk or hold down the option key, but am i getting that because something was left behind? and if so, could that be what is causing the problem re-installing?

ultimately i would like to get it re-installed, so if you can help with that, or any of this, thanks!
