Why isn't my VPC Installing Windows XP?

It keeps saying OS not found. Reboot and select proper boot device.

It will not read the disk image of windows XP.

(VPC Version 7.0.3)

When you say "disk image of windows XP" - i'm assuming, correct me if i'm wrong - that you burned this image to a cd or dvd? The cd or dvd needs to be bootable. Depending how you burned this image, you need to select the option in your burning software to make the disk bootable.

No, it's the REAL disk.

Installing from real CD problem

I also had this problem.

The solution was to Make a .iso disk image (probably .dmg would work too) of the WinXP CD, then mount it into VPC (CD menu>Mount Image...) and install like that.

After it's done and you installed the VPC Additions (from the menu bar), then it uses the CD normally.

I also have a Dual G5 tower, running VPC 7.0.3 and Leopard 10.5.x (latest as of 5/19/2008)

Wow, this is old....
I've figured this problem out a long time ago, but thanks for your response.
