Hey fellows,
I have an XP Pro image that i've been using for months on my mac pro via VMWare Fusion 1.1. Its worked great until yesterday it blue screened. When i tried rebooting it said it was missing hal.dll in the System32 folder. After trying to copy that file in, i gave up and tried to do a repair. First i attempted to just do a repair through the windows installation Disk. That i did by selecting repair instead of installing a new version. For the most part it seemed to install correctly (with the exception of some Com+ error that popped up in the middle of installation).
However, now if it tries to reboot, it just keeps looping. The windows starting screen shows up, but then it just loops back and restarts forever.
I then tried to fix it through the recover console by doing a chkdsk /r and fixmbr; nothing worked.
I have some critical data i didn't get to back up off of this image. Any help would be most appreciated
thanks
