I have Windows XP on my mini using Parallels 8.
Questions:- Can I acquire amore modern Windows OS free from the web somewhere?

How do I go about installing (idiot mode) if the freebe is available?

Windows isn't free, you might be able to find a cheap copy on eBay. Depending on the app you might be able to get it to run under Wine (free).
