Im curious would running Windows XP pro under Virtual PC be more secure
then just running XP pro on a PC

Since XP on VPC is running on a mac. would the mac make it more secure
?

nope, it's still a full copy of windows xp running. same issues different day.

The only part that might help is if you run vpc in nat'd mode, with os x becoming a router for xp.

Otherwise, though, if you were to run a virus, trojan, or other malware, you'd be at the same point.

The question is, what do you need xp for. If it's one specific app, than it should be (reasonably) safe.

You could save each session of Quickbooks to the Mac hard drive and set up virtual PC to not save to disk each time you log off of WinXP. So in case you get a virus, you can revert to a clean state. So all changes up to the last clean state will be lost, but that is better than trying to remove the malware or re-install XP.
