Ive searched and found nothing.

I just installed xp sp3 via boot camp on my i7 15" mbp.

the device manager shows my lacie rugged hard drive but i cannot access it in my computer or anywhere else.

Ive searched and come up with slow speed issues and such, but none that my drive doesnt even show up. it tones when i plug it in and remove it, but cannot access it anywhere.

It worked perfetcly on my old c2d mac.

It probably if formatted for Mac OS X, using HFS+/Mac OS Extended as file system and Windows can't read it natively.

FAT32
  • Read/Write FAT32 from both native Windows and native Mac OS X.
  • No individual file larger than 4GB.
NTFS
HFS
  • Read/Write HFS from native Mac OS X
  • To Read/Write HFS from Windows, Install MacDrive
  • To Read HFS (but not Write) from Windows, Install HFSExplorer

Btw, your thread title does not reflect your issue.

Example: Can't read external LaCie HDD in Windows XP SP3, but can read it in Mac OS X.
