I have recently been given a replacement device by Apple (presumably a refurb) which has a new battery with health of 100%, but the battery life is poor as you can see from the attached screenshots. When I first got the xr last year I’d take it off charge at 6am and by the end of work at 5pm it’d be on 70-75%; it is currently 11.30am and it is already down to 75% and my usage really hasn’t changed.

What are others’ experiences of the xr battery after a year and any tips on how to prolong it? It may well be due to the software but that is something only Apple can solve.

Looks like you got the phone a couple days ago, yes? Give it a couple more days for the battery to settle in. Also, have you don’t a soft reset since you restored everything back to the phone? This often helps; just got a brand new iPad 11 Pro from work...first couple of days, battery was terrible. Did a soft reset and now it is rocking.

It does look that way but I’ve had it for about a month. A couple of days ago I looked at the battery stats and there was no history for some reason, even though there had been the previous day. I assume this is due to yet another ios13 bug.

I’ve done many soft resets; I need to do at least one every day as a result of other issues I have with iOS 13.

I would take it back to Apple and let them know. That is not normal, especially with the Xʀ.
